After learning that October is Pastor’s Awareness Month,

I wanted to add an addendum to this post to acknowledge Pastor Kelly Lane.

Pastors Reginald and Kelly Lane

Sending you warm wishes and comfort during this time.

It has been a month since the memorial service and I have continuously pondered about your impact on my life. I do not believe I have ever said emotionally how grateful I am for you teaching me about the most important task in life… Falling in LOVE with The Father. Thank You!

As a congregant exploring my early twenties, I sat intensely in the pews waiting for my next instruction on how to live out Christianity in my young mind and body. Then your words from the pulpit would encourage me to walk “in love” with those that I find difficult to love.

The art of true forgiveness… sharing God’s love for me through my behavior toward others, especially during times when forgiving hurts the most. Forgiveness, essential to spiritual freedom. Like Love, Forgiveness too is an act but of self; giving of self that benefits self, whereas Love is giving of self that benefits others. Forgiveness requires one to remove self from the picture, in order to see the heart of another, whether the heart is broken, fragmented, or distorted. Forgiveness leans on compassion and has the expectation of restoration – “to rebuild”.

Thank you Pastor Lane for that moment of pure dissatisfaction in my tender years, yet TRUTH. Your modeling of loving God, crying before the people and God, and simply wanting to be a pure vessel has led me to this… my intense love for The Father gives my life’s mission PURPOSE. With this said, over this past month, remembering your voice, reflecting on your words, and being thankful for the opportunity to glean from your spirit, I have been able to transform my grieving of emotional loss into mourning (accepting your transition from flesh to spirit). The lessons I have learned from you will never depart from me but will spread to generation to generation.

In Loving Memory of a Worshiping Warrior,

The late Pastor Reginald Lane of Dunamis Outreach Ministries, International November 19, 1960 – August 26, 2015
